When tooth extractions are recommended, for whatever reason, Neighbourhood Dental is here to make the process as painless and efficient as possible, making sure you remain comfortable and safe during the procedure, with no pain.

While Neighbourhood Dental is committed to helping you maintain a healthy mouth and smile, there are some situations where a tooth removal is the best solution for your overall oral health. These situations include:

  • Decay that has destroyed too much of the tooth
  • Bone loss resulting from gum disease
  • A fractured or broken tooth that cannot be repaired
  • A crowded mouth, where other teeth may be affected
  • Teeth that are impacted, or those that block other teeth

Neighborhood Dental Cares about your overall comfort!

If a tooth extraction is recommended, Neighbourhood Dental will outline the procedure to you, and answer any questions or concerns. We will determine and discuss with you whether anesthesia alone will be enough, or whether the addition of sedatives will be required. We are here to make sure that you are completely comfortable during every step of the procedure, so that the process is successful and easy, from start to finish. It is not uncommon to experience some discomfort immediately after the freezing wears off, but ibuprofen or acetaminophen is usually enough to help. Swelling and bleeding is generally quite minimal, but your dentist can discuss with you what exactly to expect in your particular situation.

If you have any questions or concerns about whether you might require a tooth extraction, or if you want to set up a dental checkup/exam to determine the overall oral health of your teeth, please contact Neighbourhood Dental at 825-221-1888 and we will be happy to assist you.
